There may be some of you who would like to
experience all of it - Cuzco, the Amazon, Machu Picchu, Saqsayhuaman,
the Sacred Valley, Ollantaytambo, Amarumachay, Tambomachay
and the Sacred Mountain, Ausangate. This is a three-week
journey that defies description. You go into the depths of
the jungles, then up to the heights of the Andes as well
as experiencing all that the Sacred Valley has for you.
DAY 1: We fly into Lima , where we will stay
overnight.
DAY 2: In the morning, we fly to Puerto Maldonado in the
Amazon. We take the boat downriver, Rio Madre de Dios, to
the Eco Reserva Lodge where we will stay while in the jungle.
DAY 3: We explore the jungle during the day, visiting the
Island of the Monkeys, the Briolo, and other places. At night,
we camp at Lago Apu Victor, deep in the Amazon itself.
DAY 4: We work with Don Ignacio, a well-known, impeccable
ayahuascero and jungle shaman. During the day, we prepare
for this sacred journey.
DAY 5: We rest this day. Simply enjoying the beauty and
vital serenity of the jungle.
DAY 6: We go back upriver to fly to Cuzco.
DAY 7: We arrive in Cuzco, the capital of the Inkan empire..
It is said the Inkan empire was built in the shape of a jaguar
and that Cuzco is the head of the jaguar. In Cuzco, we go
to Koricancha, the Star Altar, Saqsayhuaman, and other sacred
sites close to the city.
DAY 8: We leave Cuzco and go to Ollantaytambo, the Temple
of the Winds. Here we stay with Dona Julia Farfan, a wonderful
shaman who helps to remember joy and delight. I consider
her to be my Peruvian mother.
DAY 9: We work with Dona Julia at Moray. Moray is a sacred
site of three immense circles created on the land. When we
return, Dona Julia will cleanse us with her medicine baths,
made from herbs and plants she grows herself.
DAY 10: Today, we go to Machu Picchu. We travel
by train to the town of Aguas Calientes, located in the Machu
Picchu range. We stay at El Presidente overlooking the Urubamba
River.
DAY 11: We spend the day at Machu Picchu itself, working
in sacred ceremony.
DAY 12: We spend the day in Aguas Calientes. We go to the
hot springs nestled in the center of the mountains. We will
have time to go to the shops and enjoy the delights of this
little mountain town.
DAY 13: We return to Cuzco. We can shop and relax.
DAY 14: Those who are not traveling onto Ausangate will
return to Lima. For those of us who are going to Ausangate,
we stay in Cuzco, preparing for our journey.
DAY 15: In the morning we leave for Ausangate. We travel
to Tinqui, the town close to where our base camp at Pacchanta
is.
DAY 16: Our horses will be waiting for us for our ride up
to Ausangate. Our camp is set up by Azul Cocha, a beautiful
lagoon of crystal blue water.
DAY 17: We go to Rainbow Lagoon, where we will work with
the shaman who lives there.
DAY 18: We go to Jaguar Lagoon, an exquisite pool of pristine
waters, to cleanse ourselves of all those things we have
been carrying for so long and no longer serve us or others.
DAY 19: We leave Ausangate to return to Cuzco.
DAY 20: We have one day in Cuzco to rest before we fly to
Lima for the flight back to the States. We go out for a dinner
of celebration, giving thanks and delight for the journey
we have just undertaken.
DAY 21: We return to Lima for our flight back to the States.
We stay at Miraflores, where we can store our luggage until
we go to the airport. We can go to the marketplace or just
simply rest.
