WOMEN'S JOURNEY OF
THE SACRED FEMININE TO
APU SALKANTAY


| DAY 1 5/25: | We fly into Lima , where we will stay overnight. |
| DAY 2 5/26: | In the morning, we arrive in Cuzco , the capital of the Incan Empire. It is said the Incan Empire was built in the shape of a jaguar and that Cuzco is the head of the jaguar. We spend the rest of the day and evening in Cuzco . |
| DAY 3 5/27: | We have a full day and night in Cuzco to give you a chance to acclimate to the heights. We meet with Dona Bernadina, who is of the Q'ero, the direct pure-blood descendants of the ancient Incan. She will travel with us throughout our journey. |
| DAY 4 5/28: | We travel to Rachqi, Wiracocha, the Temple of the Godmaker. This is a sacred temple consisting of a series of altars and kivas. Priestesses worked here with initiates to bring them to their full potential. Camping. |
| DAY 5 5/29: | We continue in sacred ceremony. Camping. |
| DAY 6 5/30: | We return to Cuzco for the night. |
| DAY 7 5/31: | We have this day in Cuzco to rest and to shop. |
| DAY 8 6/1: | We go to Killarumiyoq, the Temple of the Moon, a sacred temple dedicated to Mama Killa, Mother Moon. Camping. |
| DAY 9 6/2: | In the bathing pools, we cleanse ourselves in sacred ceremony. Camping. |
| DAY 10 6/3: |
From Killarumiyoq, we go to Ollanta, where we meet Dona Julia, a shaman who works with herbs and plants. Today, the men join us in Ollanta. |
| DAY 11 6/4: |
Dona Julia has prepared medicine herbal baths for us. These delightful baths cleanse you from the inside out. Staying in Ollanta, we go to Ollantaytambo, The Temple of The Winds. |
| DAY 12 6/5: |
We spend this day in preparation for our journey to Apu Salkantay. We meet Chino , a dear friend and shaman, Don Umberto, who is Dona Bernadina's husband, and our guide, Jaime. They will travel with us to Apu Salkantay. |
| DAY 13 6/6: |
We travel to our first base camp at Cruspata. Our horses will be waiting for us for our ride up to Salkantay. |
| DAY 14 6/7: | Our second camp at Soraypampa, has been set up, waiting for us. |
| DAY 15 6/8: |
We arrive at the heights of Apu Salkantay, where we work with the essential energy of this primal feminine mountain. |
| DAY 16 6/9: | We return to the camp at Pampaccahuana in her valley. |
| DAY 17 6/10: | From Pampaccahuana, we go to Llactapata. |
| DAY 18 6/11: |
From Llactapata, we stop at the camp at KM82 before returning to Cuzco. |
| DAY 19 6/12: |
We return to Cuzco . We go out for a dinner of celebration, giving thanks and delight for the journey we have just undertaken. |
| DAY 20 6/13: |
You return to Lima for your flight back to the States. You will be met at the airport by a guide who will take you to a hotel in Miraflores, where you can store your luggage until you go to the airport. The guide will stay with you and can take you to the marketplace and a local restaurant. I will be staying in Cuzco , as I will be meeting the next group coming for the next journey. |
The cost for this journey, without airfare, is $3,644.00 (price is based on five people; if less than five people, price will change). This includes, but not limited to, all hotel accommodations, all land and water transportation, all guides, porters, food while camping, some meals, as stated, in hotels, transfers, all entry and excursions fees. Not included: airport arrival and departure taxes, tipping of guides and porters, shamans' ceremonies, any personal expenditures. Due to the high cost of the airfare, the deposit of $1,500.00 is required. Your deposit is in addition to the above price. This deposit ensures your reservation in this journey and to purchase your airfare. This deposit includes all round trip air travel (USA/Peru/USA), including in-Peru flights. Please note that the airfare is subject to price fluctuation. Please note that, by sending in your deposit right away, the chances that we will not lose the best airfare prices we can get are increased. If I do not receive your deposit very shortly, it is likely we will lose this airfare price and the cost will have to go up. By sending in your deposit, you have accepted the invitation that Peru has sent you. That manifests the clear path to Peru and helps to remove all obstacles out of your way. Itinerary is subject to change depending on weather, festivities, etc. You will receive packing list and pre-departure information upon receipt of your registration and deposit. Please be sure that your passport is up to date and, if it is not or you don't have one, I suggest that you get it updated or apply for one now. You will get your visa upon arrival in Lima .
